Bumblebee was part of the generation of sparks that emerged from the Allspark before the beginning of the Great War. Seeing the destruction caused by the Decepticons, he joined the Autobots. Bumblebee became part of Team Prime (led by Optimus Prime) after Jazz, Ironhide, Prowl, Wheeljack (who was already with Optimus), and Ratchet. As such, he accompanied Optimus in the search for energon (after Cybertron ran dry of the life-giving substance) and a new home.
