Warren Truss is a real Australian politician. He was the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry from July 1999 to June 2005. Currently he is the Shadow Minister Trade, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, and Leader of the National Party. In a recent article about Warren Truss (Courier Mail August 14-15 2010), he was quoted mentioning that his name was used in the TV series and gave a short outline as to the impact of his character in the plot line.
