USS Gaynier (DE-751) was a United States Navy Cannon-class destroyer escort proposed during World War II but never completed. DE-751 was laid down by the Western Pipe and Steel Company at San Pedro, California, on 4 August 1943 and named USS Gaynier (DE-751) on 3 September 1943. She was launched on 30 January 1944, sponsored by Mrs. Ireta Gaynier, the widow of the ship's namesake, Ensign Oswald J. Gaynier. Before Gaynier could be completed, her construction was suspended on 6 June 1944 and cancelled on 1 September 1944. The incomplete ship was scrapped.
