This version of J. Jonah Jameson sold the Daily Bugle to Mayor Waters of New York City because he believes it ran on lies, and made him a liar. In Spider-Man: Reign #1, he comes to Peter Parker's doorstep to say sorry for all the years of abuse when he worked at the Daily Bugle along with giving him a package. After starting a riot with an army of children, Peter opens the package given to him and he sees it contains a old Spider-Man mask and camera from when he worked at the Daily Bugle.
