Cirrus intortus (Ci in) clouds are a variety of thin cirrus cloud which have filaments that are very irregularly arranged or curved, or which appear orderless or tangled. Cirrus intortus clouds can form from high-level moisture in temperatures below freezing. Rarely, if ever, have intortus clouds produced precipitation.
