Mangai (formerly Mangaia) was the Matoran word for "protector". This can refer to: * The Toa Mangai, who protected Metru Nui until Teridax hired three Dark Hunters to eliminate them. The last member of the team, Lhikan, died in the Great Cataclysm. * The Mangai Volcano on Mata Nui, named by the Turaga of Mata Nui after the old Toa team protecting Metru Nui. * Teridax's lair called Mangaia. He named it after his former job, as a protector of the Matoran.
