The assassin's masterwort was distantly related to the Mandalorian Iiki plant, having the same elastic qualities. The plant itself however, was known to grow naturally on Naboo (LadyVader). The plant was first discovered by Athiel Oka, a Dathomiri bioscientist, and named by her assistants, Marcus Piett and Augisa Ramrand.
