Robert Gru is Felonius Gru's Father, Marlena Gru's husband as well, he is also the adopted paternal grandfather of Margo, Edith and Agnes, Lucy's father-in law and the son of John Gru. He is overweight and an upper-class who made an appearance on the Gru family tree, he has a strange-looking face and like Gru, a large or long pointed nose, he never appeared in person during the first film or seen in any of Gru's flashbacks and wasn't even at his son's wedding near the end of the second film. It can be assumed because of this, he died before the events of Despicable Me or possibly while Gru was a child.
