Thariand is a librarian in the Lycaeum in Ultima VI. Thariand was proud of having received the blue star of Nicodemus, a true accomplishment for a mage, and was able to give the Avatar directions to the mage's home near Yew. However remarked that if he could learn all the books in the Lycaeum, he would be the mightiest mage of all Britannia. Thariand was also responsible for organizing the books of the Lycaeum, but his system of organizing the books was very complicated.
