Exile is the rune word 'VexOhmIstDol' for paladin shields in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. Although Exile is a tad expensive, it is very rewarding and is one of the best options for many Paladin builds. In particular, it is by far the best shield for increasing physical defenses due to in large part to its inherent Defiance aura. Exile is especially effective on an Ethereal Shield, as the runeword allows the item to repair itself over time. The only thing that is lacking with this shield is any sort of resistance, so it's best to create it in a base that has good resist bonus.
