The Ninth Fleet was one of the nine main battlegroups of the Galactic Alliance Defense Fleet, serving the Alliance government during the Second Galactic Civil War in 40 ABY. It appears to have been created after the Alliance victory in the Yuuzhan Vong War, and possibly during the Corellian crisis itself. During the crisis, the Ninth Fleet was based at Crix Base in the Coruscant system, but it was still enigmatic to high-ranking Alliance figures like Grand Master Luke Skywalker of the New Jedi Order. In fact, it was the sole GA fleet under Galactic Alliance Guard command.
