The Ancients were a race of crystaline creatures that were silicon based lifeforms and they came from the planet known simply as the Crystal planet. The Ancients visted the planet Mars and these Martian Ancient ruins were explored around the year 2100 AD. Later on a research base was estabilised on the North Pole of Mars.
