The Lefans first used early nebular cannons in their campaign of conquest against the other natives of the Xoret Cluster (4,000 BBY–3,950 BBY) on their warships to great effect. In the millennia that followed, the technology was constantly upgraded and refined, with the multiple power settings introduced around 1 ABY. Development of various models of nebular cannons increased in 6 ABY when the Confederation of Non-Aligned Planets began to scout the cluster and colonized several planets, most notably Gakt V in the Gakt system.
