On June 13, 2013, as part of an announcement that he would be attending the convention, the official website for Celebration Europe II announced that Doug Chiang was returning to Lucasfilm as part of a team assembled by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy to help create the future of Star Wars. It is not known what position Chiang will hold. Chiang himself said, "It's wonderful to be back! It's been over ten years since I last worked on Star Wars but my Star Wars roots have touched nearly every film I've designed since.
