Lakitu takes out his fishing rod and casts it out; the line and hook will automatically target and home in on an edge if Lakitu is off-stage, or another opponent if one is nearby. On stage, the hook will home in on the nearest opponent and grab them; upon grabbing them, Lakitu will reel himself towards them, fly upwards a short distance with the enemy in tow, and will then powerfully slam them downwards with his fishing rod; in the air, this will meteor-smash those that are caught with it.
