In Norse mythology, Audhumbla (also spelled Audhumla) was a giant cow which existed in Ginnungagap (void, emptiness) at the beginning of time. Her milk provided nourishment to Ymir, the primordial frost giant from whom many worlds in Norse cosmology were created. She received nourishment from the salt and ice in Niflheim (one of 2 realms which existed at the beginning of time).
