Anna Creschia was born on Norulac in 10 BBY, among pirates, and so she grew up with a romanticized view of them. When that view was finally disrupted - when the Norulac Pirates started bringing in slaves and loot from their raids - she did not know how to respond. She left Norulac and became a mercenary, working small-time for Hutts and other crime lords.
