The Datarians were a faction of Soong-type androids present in an alternate timeline where Doctor Noonien Soong's ideals for mechanical life were developed in the United Federation of Planets. The group developed their beliefs by their leader Data who took a large number of androids from the Federation after they had attained near equal rights to organic beings and settled on the planet Turing in the Romulan Neutral Zone.
