The Statler family previously operated Honest Joe Statler in 1885, which advertised "fine horses sold, bought, and traded". In 1955, the business was known as Statler Studebaker. In 1985, the business was known as Statler Toyota. When Marty McFly talked to Doc Brown while he was staying at the Majestic Arms Inn in 1931, Doc revealed that he parked the DeLorean time machine in the DeSoto dealership parking lot because it was a safe hiding spot as no one was buying automobiles in that time period.
