Tegoro is a Japanese businessman, who frequents bars, loves call girls and knives, even throwing them at Detectives James "Sonny" Crockett and Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs when they ask him about the Asian-related hooker killings in 1989. Later, when Sandy Dyson, a runaway-turned-call girl was killed in the same manner, her father was told Tegoro had a hand in her killing, which he denied, but Dyson pulled a gun and began shooting when Tegoro shot him in self-defense. Later, Tegoro was cleared in the hooker killings when it was revealed Carlos Escobar and Eric Haliwell were responsible.
