The Vassa Plain is a large expanse of grassland located in Tortall near the Scanran border. It is close to the Vassa River, which forms the true border between Tortall and Scanra. In 460 HE, a large battle took place on the Vassa Plain during the Scanran War. The Tortallans lost 98 men—almost the size of an entire company—during the onslaught. The Tortallans retreated and the Scanrans gave chase, although they broke formation that Maggur Rathhausak clearly tried to drill into them. The Tortallans were able to turn back and kill most of the enemy. They won, but barely.
