The grandson of Baran and the great-grandson of Balan (Beör), Bereg was a Chieftain of the First Adan House. His opposition to his people's involvement in the Wars in Beleriand led him to leave his home in Estolad and return to the Edain's ancient homeland in Eriador. Leading a thousand of his brethren, he founded the kingdom of the Beregrim around the Evendim Hills and the North Downs.
