Eric Terry is the host of a TV show called Society's Watchdog, a tabloid-style reality show. In 1989 Terry wanted to follow along in a typical day in the life of a Miami Vice cop, and Commissioner Henry Williford, seeing a valuable PR opportunity, directs Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs and Stan Switek to allow Terry to accompany them on their cases, despite the potential for blown undercover assignments. Terry becomes interested in the person known as "Miracle Man", and wants to do a complete show around him, even getting "Miracle Man" a new costume. But the costumed one is killed in a gunfight, and Terry sardonically suggests that "somebody do something" about "Miracle Man", earning him a punch-out from Switek.
