He is the younger brother of Jake and Laura Forester. His mother is the sheriff. During Spring Break Jake has the responsibility to take care of Zane and Laura, while his mother, as the sheriff, takes care of the town full of tourists. That´s why in the Piranha year Jake bribes his sister and brother, Laura and Zane, to stay home alone so that he can show Derrick around the beach. After Jake leaves, Zane drafts Laura to go fishing on a small sandbar island. They forget to tie the boat down and are stranded in the middle of the lake. Zane belongs to those who are later saved by her mother.
