Long ago, the factory was the last big order of the Lucky Smells Lumbermill. Kit Snicket, when writing to Gregor Anwhistle, mentions the factory so that Mr. Anwhistle can dispose of the deadly mushrooms and not use it against V.F.D.'s enemies. Unfortunately, Gregor Anwhistle never opened the letter. He later perished in the fire that destroyed Anwhistle Aquatics. In The End, Ishmael plans to take the poisoned islanders to the factory to save them. Whether they reach the factory or not is unknown.
