Legendary entities of the sea, these colossal octopus-like creatures live in only in the deepest oceans. With one foul swoop they can destroy a ship and submerge it in a matter of seconds. No one has actually seen a kracken and lived to tell the tale but it is widely accepted that they do exist and account for nearly all boats lost to the stormy oceans.
