Team Orochimaru was the genin squad under the tutelage of Orochimaru. He discarded Aniki and Tatsuki from the squad soon after it's inception, not seeing much potential in them. He branded Anko with the curse seal as one of his ten experiments with the cursed seal, taking advantage of her loyalty to him. She was the only one to survive. Orochimaru fled the village after this incident, and Team Orochimaru was renamed Team Tsunade II, as it was Tsunade's second squad. It was disbanded entirely after Aniki's abduction by Orochimaru, and Anko and Tatsuki were allowed to enter the Chunin exams as a two-man squad.
