Mutant Space Eels were aggressive space-borne predators that were notorious for ingesting hapless creatures. The Planetary Defense Center on planet Kerwan had an automated message system, and pressing two on the dial would alert Captain Qwark that a Mutant Space Eel was digesting someone.
