Right after the events of the episode Crossroad Blues unfolded. Sam and Dean are called up by an old friend of Ash by the name of Manfred Afiri, who lives all the way out in New York City. He hires them to check out his house because he is positive it is haunted by a spirt. Their investigation leads them to the center of one of Poe's horror classics, face-to-face with their most terrifying foe yet. And if Sam and Dean don't rewrite the ending of this chilling tale, a grisly serial killer will end their lives forevermore.
