Nosa Republica and its system was discovered in 156 BBY by the pirate captain Bolta Yorsos and the crew of his bulk cruiser Nosa Republica. They started a small trading post, which they named Nosa Republica, on the moon of Nosa Republica which orbited the gas giant which they named Captain Yorsos. It was a shadowport from the beginning and became a slave trading port early on.
