The demon monkey of Laeng-Tran was a jade idol which was said to possess occult power. Indiana Jones' search for the artifact was reported in the press around 1932. Professor Henry Jones, Sr. made a note of his son's search in his Grail Diary but dismissed it as "fanciful nonsense".
