The TIE Hunter is a TIE counterpart to the X-wing, possessing s-foils as well as ion engines. Despite being faster, it has a better armament than its counterpart, and the armament is identical to the Y-wing. It had two laser cannons on chin mounts, two ion cannons at the s-foil joints, and a proton torpedo launcher with twelve torpedoes. This ship was built to escort transports and Escort Carriers, since it did take some time for them to prepare and deploy fighters. While they were preparing, Hunters would defend them.
