The construction of the ship began in 2369 and was overseen by Commander Vincenzo. If Benjamin Sisko had remained at the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards and not taken command of Deep Space 9, Sisko could have been the officer in charge. The Saratoga docked at Deep Space 9 in 2374. Jadzia Dax wanted to invite several of its crew to a party, but Worf was not keen. (DS9 episode: "Wrongs Darker Than Death or Night") In Star Trek: Armada II, the Saratoga was a Sovereign-class starship.
