Springfield State Prison is one of Springfield's many prisons and is currently in use. A campaign ad requesting for Sideshow Bob to be voted Mayor of Springfield showed Springfield State Prison with a revolving door, escalators over the walls, and ski chairs with prisoners escaping with the implication that Mayor Quimby would let prisoners escape from prison (ironically pointing out Sideshow Bob as being one of the prisoners in question).
