Ashinaga-jin is one half of a pair of youkai said to be found on the island of Kyūshū, the Ashinaga-tenaga ("long legs long arms"). Ashinaga has extremely long legs and collaborates with Tenaga-jin to catch fish by carrying his partner on his back and wading into the shallow sea with its long legs.
