Paintoombas are a hybrid of a Squirto Blooper and an Octoomba (though they look excactly like Octoombas) that appear in Super Mario Island. Unlike Octoombas, they spit out inky goop, which causes Octo-Swoopin' Stus to appear. They can also spit lava which causes Fire Snakes to appear. Paintoombas moslty appear in harbors/industrial areas, grasslands, and volcanic areas. Unlike regular Octoombas, Paintoombas do not appear outside the Mushroom World/Grand Finale Galaxy. It is possible that Paintoombas were created by the Magic Paintbrush, as they appear to be synthetic, while regular Octoombas were realistically born.
