The Assault Armor Division was a command of the Imperial Army that was responsible for the control of the Army's heavy vehicular support, such as heavy walkers like the All Terrain Armored Transport, and repulsor vehicles and tanks. It was one of the important organizational distinctions of the Imperial Army. While at the Imperial Academy, Maximilian Veers decided to join the Assault Armor Division in order to operate the AT-AT walker, which he believed best personified his personality as well as that of the Galactic Empire.
