The Proscribed Experiments are an ancient and very dangerous form of the Secret Art, not unlike a summoning, that were devised by the Council of Santhenar. The Council intended to use the Experiments as a means to end the menace of Rulke and the Charon. However, the Council later prohibited the use of the Proscribed Experiments, as they had invariably ended in the death of those who used them. Yggur was later convinced by the Council to use the Experiments to defeat Rulke, however, he was betrayed by the Council, and particuarly Mendark, who forced Rulke to possess him.
