The Krieghoff Paratrooper Rifle was one of three prototypes to enter trials for the Fallshirmjäger service rifle, the others being the Knorr-Bremse Paratrooper Rifle and the FG 42. It was ultimately rejected in favor of the FG 42, after which Krieghoff started producing their own FG 42 rifles.
