The SUN (Stanford University Network) workstation was a 68000-based Multibus workstation developed in the early 80's. The designer of the CPU board (Andy Bechtolsheim) would become one of the founders of Sun Microsystems in 1982. The original Sun-1 workstation is essentally the Stanford SUN design. They were the first computer vendor to have TCP/IP networking as a standard feature on all their systems, and the coined the pharse "The Network is the Computer" before anyone knew where were were going. ....
