The dragon kiteshield is a piece of dragon equipment, and is among the best shields in the game. It can only be obtained as a drop from Dragonite dragons or via Smithing with a Smithing level of 112. Even with the ability to smith them, these shields are extremely rare, as most skillers do not have the combat abilities to complete the quest required to smith them. When first released, players went crazy with excitement, however, excitement about the item diminished when people realized how difficult it was to obtain one, leaving the price to crash from around 1 billion coins initially to it's present state. Most players use a Dragon square shield instead.
