When charging such an attack, players can shield to cancel/store the charge or move left or right making the character roll. Some charged attacks can be canceled in the air like Donkey Kong's Giant Punch and Sheik's Needle Storm. To cancel in the air the player must press the shield button and this will make the character air dodge. But if the player press the shield button and immediately release it, the air dodge will fail.
