Guidance cubes were thinking machine devices used for visitors of the Central Spire. They were black and could be obtained from wall-mounted trays. They lit up, verified thieir identity, and then showed the visitors (mainly robots) which direction to go inside the Spire. No pathway was ever the same, since the flowmetal building was constantly being changed as Omnius vented his creative urges.
