A hover-flare was an incendiary device used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Launched to a pre-determined altitude, the flare would ignite before hovering in place for a brief time, showering their enemies in a brilliant light. The CIS made widespread use of hover-flares, which provided additional light for droid-based armies to see by, in addition to revealing hiding weaponry used by the Grand Army of the Republic.
