Great Girders are girders in the Donkey Kong series of games. They are golden girders that have Donkey Kong's initials engraved on the top. They first appeared in Donkey Kong Continent. Only Donkey Kong can use them. One appears in almost every level, and once lifted, a Bonus Barrel appears somewhere else in the stage across a gap. DK must get to that area without getting hurt, or else he will drop the girder. Once reached, the girder is used to fill the gap so that the barrel can be reached. DK can not jump as well when carrying the girder, and he can not use team attacks while carrying it.
