It is typically used by players needing to spend extended time away from the game, and is accessed from the church. While in retreat, a character is fed and accommodated. However, there is speculation that characters in weak condition when entering retreat may die in retreat. It is also speculated that this is not the case and that the players in question may have actually failed to place their character in retreat.
