Darein is a village at the base of the middle Tar Valon bridge on the west shore (The Alindrelle Erinin). Darein was burned during the Trolloc Wars, destroyed by Artur Hawkwing, looted during the Hundred Years War and burned again during the Aiel War. Every time it was rebuilt. During the White Tower Schism negotiations were held between the two factions in Darein.
