The forest spirit Michaela(Miku) is watching a human girl, Clarith (Haku), pray to god for friends. Michaela pities her and wants to grant her wish but can't since she's a spirit, however Elluka Clockworker(Luka) comes nad gives her a human body. After beginning her life as a human being, Michaela becomes confused by Clarith's constant depression and befriends her, promising to protect her. They later run off together to Acied and make a living working for the Freezis family and Michaela begins to understand what it's like to feel joy whenever she's in Clarith presense.
