Vulpoons were scraggly Deepwoods birds of prey with sharp, curved, serrated beaks. There was a dead vulpoon hanging over the door of the School of Potions and Poisons in Sanctaphrax. Despite those birds being scavengers and not considered very noble creatures, there were Sky Pirate captains like Deadbolt Vulpoon who chose this bird to be their name.
