Slim was a waitress with her best friend, Ginny and her adoptive father, Phil until she was "rescued" by a man named Mitch as she married him and had their first daughter, Gracie. Slim finds out that Mitch has been having a affair the whole time as she notices that Mitch was still cheating on her as she angrily confronted him about it until he slapped her and then punched her leaving a scar on her face. Slim then goes to Ms. Hiller's house, the next day and she asks Slim what did she do to make him angry. Slim then starts thinking about leaving with Gracie, but then gets attacked by Mitch and then starts kicking her in the chest, leaving a bruise on her stomach.
